GUIDE TO HELP YOU WITH THE BEST FIT FOR YOUR ACTIVITY
The first thing to consider is what watersports activity you will use your Sharkskin garment for:
- Scuba Diving, Snorkelling and Swimming (where you are typically fully submerged in the water) - either by itself or underneath a wetsuit your Sharkskin garment should be a 'firm' fit.
- General Watersports Activities (where you are typically in and. out of the water or just splashed with water).
You can opt for a slightly looser fit for the tops - particularly for very active watersports where you are rotating your torso and having a slightly looser fit will add to the comfort. Bottoms should be a 'firm' fit.
To ensure a looser fit opt for the higher end of the sizing scale when comparing your measurements to the size chart.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
If you are 'average height' compared to your weight, in other words, you fall between the key parameters for weight and height, the guide should be straight forward, and detailed measurement is not required. If you fall outside of the 'average' please use below as a guide.
- You may need a different size top and bottom - so please measure both rather than choosing the same size automatically.
- When measuring for a top you should measure the widest part of your chest and the narrowest part of your waist. When measuring for a bottom you should measure the widest part of your hip and widest part of your thighs.
- When making your selection use previous experience along with these measurements to guide you. If you're tall and thin you are best to maintain a firmer fit even if it's a bit short in arms and legs.

The Sharkskin size charts are made to be accurate for the type of fit you need for each garment. Provided that you measure your body accurately then you will get the very best estimate for size.

Under a wetsuit - if you are wearing Sharkskin™ underneath a wetsuit then you will need to make sure your Sharkskin™ garment is ‘fitted’ so that it is firm on your body and does not bunch underneath your wetsuit.
In and out of the water - if you are wearing Sharkskin™ by itself (not under a wetsuit) and are fully submerged or ‘in and out’ of the water (EG – ‘in and underwater’ watersports like SCUBA diving and snorkelling, and also general watersports where you are ‘in and out’ of the water like surfing, foiling, wake boarding, kiteboarding, windsurfing, performance sailing, etc) then it is also best to make sure your Sharkskin™ garment is more ‘fitted’ than loose.
Out of the water - if you are wearing Sharkskin™ as a standalone garment out of the water 100% of the time (EG – SUP boarding, surfski paddling, recreational kayaking, snow skiing, sailing, as thermal wear for mountain biking and other outdoor activities, etc) then you may be more comfortable with a slightly looser fit to allow for better torso rotation and flexibility.
Sharkskin Rapid Dry rash shirts - the exception to wearing Sharkskin™ ‘fitted’ is the Rapid Dry range. Rapid Dry is designed to be worn slightly loose like your favourite T shirt.
FIT TIPS –
- To ensure a looser fit then size up or choose the higher end of the sizing scale when comparing your body measurements to the size chart. To ensure a tighter / firmer fit then do the opposite.
- When putting Chillproof or T2 Chillproof garments on do the zipper up at the narrowest part of your waist and then pull the top down towards your hips. Once pulled down then continue to pull the zipper up, (per the video demonstration).

COMFORT SNORKEL WITH SPLASH GUARD
Sharkskin's Comfort easy clear splash guard snorkel is packed full of features, making it the ideal snorkel for both Scuba divers and snorkellers regardless of your level experience. Boasting a streamlined elliptical pipe, lower drop-away flexible tube section, low profile splash guard, soft silicone mouthpiece, quick release keeper and an ergonomically designed purge chamber, clearing your snorkel has never been easier.
The Comfort snorkels’ splash guard top ejects water out of the lower side of the snorkel top using gravity and friction technology. Air, being lighter than water, is drawn up and over the ejection plate before making its way down the streamlined elliptical tube.
Fitted with a drop-away flexible designed tube it reduces pressure on the mask strap and snorkel keeper by bending to the perfect angle when snorkelling and allowing easy snorkel to regulator exchange by simply dropping out of the way of your mouth when required.
Sharkskins' comfort quick release snorkel keeper allows you to separate your snorkel from your mask when required and keeps its securely fastened onto your mask strap whilst snorkelling.
The ergonomically designed purge chamber captures any water that may have entered the snorkel and has been fitted with a large purge valve positioned at the lowest point of the chamber. This makes the Sharkskins Comfort snorkel the easiest to clear – simply exhale to flush out any residue water.
The soft comfortable mouthpiece allows you to explore the underwater world for longer and avoid jaw fatigue and discomfort.
